Yes, very difficult …
Yes, very difficult to tell a model from the real thing ….until it crashes and bursts into flames. You'll notice that the smoke from the burning wreckage is nearly identical. ROTFL

That could have …
That could have paid off college and then some. I wish I had that kind of money to burn. (Literally even.)

For the meantime I'll stick with my FlightGear sim. It's fun enough, well within my means, and any accidents like that are just a simple reset away from fixing.

iwojima654 @ 12:00 am

Mattew1999 @ 12:00 am

Pmsl. You can tell …
Pmsl. You can tell it's a model when it crashes as there is less smoke.

floatorsink @ 12:00 am

Almost $50,000.00 …
Almost $50,000.00 dollars and all you have left is a real nice transmitter.Check the weather, approaching storm with unpredictable winds, nasty looking clouds and you fly,are you nuts?Seems like after spending all that money someone could come up with a system to eject the turbines,at least they would not burn to a crisp.

qbb01 @ 12:00 am

I think you are …
I think you are forgetting the emotional side. It may be worth 40,000 dollars, yet it will seem like 2million down the drain to him.

pineappleboy1 @ 12:00 am

the commentator is …
the commentator is so irritating.

"And when the aircraft crashes, it also does so with a down-nose attitutde"

MrAdrenaline76 @ 12:00 am

sorry, but your …
sorry, but your numbers are wrong. Figure approximately $3k per turbine x 8 of them = $24000 and maybe another $16000 for the airframe and radio gear. $40000 total at most. Still a lot of money, but nowhere even close to the number you posted.
